Come and hear the stories of what the Confederate forces faced in spring of 1865 in and around Petersburg.  Living historians will be at the Eastern Front, Petersburg National Battlefield to commemorate the 159th anniversary of the Battle of Fort Stedman.  Living historians from the Princess Anne Greys and 10th Virginia will present programs demonstrating sharpshooter drills and camp life in the Confederate Army’s “last ditch” effort to stave off a defeat at Petersburg.   Each day at 2:30 pm there will be guided tours of the battlefield.  All of the events will occur at Stop 5 on the Eastern Front Tour Road.

This event will be presented on both Saturday and Sunday, it will be family-friendly, and also weather-permitting.
