This very special tour invites you into beautifully decorated homes to kick off your holiday season. In addition to the beautiful historic homes that are often open to the public, this tour offers the opportunity to visit lovely, historic private homes that are not open to the public as museum houses. Four homes will be open on High Street including a stunning Row House and an Egyptian Revival House, along with the very unique Trapezium House around the corner, a lovely 1910 house, and Second Presbyterian Church on West Washington Street, a wonderful apartment above The Farmers Bank and the Archibald Graham McIlwaine House. While in Old Towne, also visit the Petersburg Area Art League to see the festive and always fun Trees of Christmas exhibit. Also open for the tour will be Centre Hill, each room festively decorated by a different designer, and wonderful Historic Battersea. If you have not been to Battersea lately, prepare to be wowed by this amazing restoration and the incredible furnishings and rugs you will see on the first and second floors.
Begin your tour at the McIlwaine House on Cockade Alley where you may purchase your tickets if you have not already done so. Also, there is available parking for your car and trolleys will be available to take you on the tour. You may prefer to drive out to Battersea on the western side of the City. All other properties are in Old Towne.
