There will be a variety of activities/events as the 155th anniversary of these assaults is commemorated. June 15 & 16, 1864 were the first and second of 292 days or nearly 10 months of siege warfare that would eventually engulf nearly 500,000 acres of the VA country side. Author Steve Labarre will be present to discuss The Fifth Massachusetts Colored Cavalry in the Civil War, which will be held in the Eastern Front Visitor Center. Each day, other activities will include:

  • All Day – Hannibal Guards, USCT – Living History Demonstrations – Eastern Front Visitor Center
  • All Day – Artillery & Mortar Firing Demonstrations – Tour Stop 3
  • All Day – Detachment, U. S. Engineers – Engineering Demonstrations – Tour Stop 3
  • Ranger-led Tours Daily and in Real Time: Real Time on Sat. – 6:30 PM; on Sun. – 5:30 PM – Eastern Front Visitor Center
