City Point (Hopewell), Virginia was one of the largest military supply bases in the nation in 1864. Union soldiers fighting at both Richmond and Petersburg were dependent on the food, clothing, guns and ammunition that City Point provided. The Confederates were well aware of the importance of the supply wharves, and in August, 1864, with the help of a spy, they found a way to disrupt the entire operation. Join a Ranger to learn more about the violent act of sabotage that would claim the lives of dozens of soldiers and civilians.
