This Caravan Driving Tour focuses upon Gen. Grant’s first attempt to capture the Weldon and Southside Railroads, the Second Offensive of the Petersburg Campaign, June 21-24, 1864. The overshadowed Battle of Jerusalem Plank Road was a staggering repulse for the Union Army. Snacks will be provided on the tour. After the tour, at approximately 12 Noon, there will be an unveiling of an interpretive wayside sign about the battle, and dedication of land donated to the Foundation, as well as a Q & A session. This will be near the intersection of Birdsong & Flank Roads. Space is limited and the Registration Deadline is November 5th.
