Presented by Petersburg Garden Club

Garden Tour Day in Petersburg is a revered tradition and this year you will love exploring 4 beautiful homes in the Poplar Lawn Historic District along with extraordinary historic properties elsewhere in the city. Also, did you know that renowned landscape architect Charles Gillette designed gardens in Petersburg? There will be a special exhibit in the Petersburg Public Library where you will see some of his garden blueprints for Petersburg clients from the 1920s to the ’50s, along with his desk, and a garden bench that he designed and made. While in the library you must see the beautiful mosaic in the atrium. Lunch will be available at Second Presbyterian Church and tea will be served in the dining room of Centre Hill, an exquisite Bolling family home. Trolleys will be available to drive you to Historic Battersea, a 250+ year old Neo-Palladian villa on 35 lush acres on the west side of the city – it is a MUST SEE. If you have visited before you will be excited and amazed at the transition.
