Presented by Henricus Historical Park

Each Friday thru September, there will be a 90-minute walking tour which brings visitors to the Henricus bluff on the James River to hear the stories of the many layers of history here. You will discover the life of the Powhatan Indians and the founding of the Henricus Fort; the 1781 Revolutionary Battle of Osborne’s Landing; the transformations of the early republic here and the subsequent landowners, including the communities and the enslaved populations; and the Civil War with the Union occupation of the land. The tour will conclude with an examination of the remains of the lightkeeper’s house, the monuments on the bluff, and Dutch Gap’s use during World War I. The tour ticket includes full admission to Henricus Historical Park.
