Dr. John G. Selby, a history professor at Roanoke College will be speaking about Major General George G. Meade at Petersburg. After defeating General Lee and the Army of Northern Virginia in Gettysburg, General Meade led the Main Union Army in Virginia until the end of the war. The Civil War Roundtable meets monthly on the first Thursday evening.
