More than 300 players and coaches will be traveling to Prince George County July 23 – 27 for the Dixie Softball World Series.  The tournament will take place at JEJ Moore Athletic Complex, located at 11455 Prince George Drive Disputanta, VA 23842. Activities start on Friday, July 23rd with an opening ceremony for all attending teams at Prince George High School and play begins Saturday, July 24th.

Prince George County will host the Dixie Darlings (7 and 8 year olds) and the Dixie Angels x-Play (9 and 10 year olds) divisions.  Games will begin at 10am and end around 8pm each day.  Games will be played on Saturday, July 24th, Sunday, July 25th, Monday, July 26th, and Tuesday, July 27th for this double elimination tournament.  Once released, the schedules and brackets can be found on our website: https://www.princegeorgecountyva.gov/visitors/2021_dixie_softball_world_series.php.

Tickets for the tournament will be available to the general public at the tournament.  Week-long adult tickets are $25, week-long kids (6-12) tickets are $15.  One-day adult tickets are $10 and one day kids tickets are $5.

Sports tournaments like the Dixie World Series provide a boost to the local economy.  Participants traveling for sports tournaments spend an estimated $208 per day for lodging, meals, and other activities.

“We are excited to host another sports tourism competition as we emerge from the pandemic,” stated Chairman Floyd M. Brown, Jr.  “This will be the first time Prince George County has hosted a Dixie Softball World Series tournament.  We know that our business community will benefit from this tremendous event.”
