Join us for a FREE walking tour with a Park Ranger to explore how a quiet place once part of Flower’s Farm became Poplar Grove National Cemetery, the final resting place for more than 6,000 soldiers. This program includes a walking tour through the cemetery and the stories of the individuals whose lives, and deaths shaped a nation. Park and meet the ranger at 8005 Vaughan Road, Petersburg, 23805.
This SUNSET TOUR is a free & family-friendly program discussing historic places and events related to the Petersburg Campaign of the Civil War. Petersburg National Battlefield and Petersburg Battlefields Foundation are partnering for a fourth year to offer these tours once a month between May and August.
All programs are free and open to the public. Programs are 60-90 minutes and require a small amount of walking. Drinking water and comfortable shoes are recommended. All programs are subject to change. Changes or cancellations will be announced on Petersburg National Battlefield’s website Facebook page (@PetersburgNPS). For more information, please call (804) 732-3531 or e-mail Ranger Eric Schreiner at [email protected].
