When you are dining, you can look in and see a small portion of the museum collection and you will not believe it until you see it all.

October is Fall Festival and every weekend, so get everybody in the car and tour the farm, go on a hayride, select your pumpkin, navigate a corn maze, milk a cow, have some ice cream and really see what farm life and a creamery is like. Of course, like any good pub, Brickhouse has a wide selection of English beers and ales. “It is not meant to feel like a pub which has been plucked from a town in the British countryside and dropped in Petersburg. Rather, we like to think that if Petersburg, Virginia were part of Britain this is what its pub would be like,” Drew remarks proudly.  This jolly pub setting can also be reserved for private parties and events.

Drew, who began working in the restaurant business at age fifteen, says that he and Johanna always wanted to open their own restaurant, which they have now expanded to include a catering service. They also feel very connected to the community, and in that spirit Brickhouse hosts all kinds of fun event nights, from “Quiz Nights” the first Monday of every month to “Thirsty Thursdays”. “It’s really the patrons and the atmosphere that they bring to Petersburg’s local pub,” Drew says. “That’s what makes it such a special place.”

When asked about the family’s propensity for becoming restaurateurs, Sal smiles and says, “It’s kind of fate, you know? We all grew up in the restaurants. I started working at Brothers when I was 13, and I was managing a restaurant when I was 19 or 20. I just always wanted to be like my dad.” At Brothers, they serve many other Italian dishes in addition to their pizza. All their dishes are prepared with homemade bread from the Buffa family bakery and customers end their meals with sumptuous Italian desserts like cannoli and tiramisu.
