Presented by Petersburg Area Art League

For Black History Month, the art of Mr. Eugene Vango, whose inspiration has come from his experience with African art and culture, will be featured at the Petersburg Area Art League. This exhibit in the Main Gallery will be jazz-influenced. He headed the Department of Art & Design at VA State University for 16 years and taught there for 32 years. His works are done in oil, acrylic and digital art. A special collection of African-American Civil Rights memorabilia that belongs to Mr. Charles White will be in the Members Gallery, including items previously owned by actor Marlon Brando. Family Fun at PAAL will also be occurring this evening from 6pm – 8pm, which is a monthly opportunity for families to enjoy a hands-on art project working collaboratively. Friday for the Arts is a great way for everyone in the family to experience and learn about art.
Shops, galleries and restaurants are open later, many offer music; it’s a great night to discover Old Towne!
