This weekend is going to be all about the WW II battles in the Pacific Theater along with what was happening on the home front at that time. There will be reenactments, living historians telling you about aspects of a soldier’s life, weapons, signals & commands, you will learn about the impressions of U. S. Army soldiers, Marines, the British and the Russians. you will see weapons, a 1940’s military uniform, there will be a Civilian Fashion Show and a display of vintage pre-war cars. Many museums are partnering with Pamplin Park on this special weekend. Historians and authors will be speaking about the U. S. 11th Airborne, The Los Banos Raid, Japanese armor, Freedom & Food, the Civilian Experience in the Philippine Internment Camps, & Propaganda Poster Art. There will be crafts activities for the kids and a Food Vendor on Saturday.
