The Great Appomattox River Duck Race & Festival. Fun at the river for the whole family! The festival will benefit homeless pets in our community! Everyone is encouraged to adopt a rubber duck now then spend a fun-filled day at the festival to cheer on their duck as they race down the Appomattox River. The grand prize is guaranteed to be at least $500 in cash, and the prize amounts will increase with the number of ducks adopted.

Anyone 18 & up can adopt a duck for just $5. Proceeds from The Great Appomattox River Duck Race benefit Off the Chain Animal Rescue, a local 501c3 charity.

Rubber ducks are available for adoption online using a credit card at Eventbrite.com or you can adopt a duck in person (cash only) at the Appomattox Boat Harbor & Harbor Blast events. In addition, ducks are available at a variety of community events, including Farmers Markets, and more. Only a limited number of ducks will be available on the day of the race – so get your ducks in a row before the event!

The Duck Race & Festival is held at the Appomattox Boat Harbor festival area. There will be outdoor games, vendors, raffles, prizes, food and beverages, and delicious baked goodies! This event is made possible by the Appomattox Boat Harbor, as well as the many sponsors and volunteers. The Duck Race Festival is free and open to the public.
