The 2026 drag racing season opening weekend at Virginia Motorsports Park features a double-header Test & Tune following the long winter layoff — your first opportunity to hit the track in 2026.
Cars will be called by tire type in the following run order:
Slick Tires, Jr. Dragsters, Pro Radial Prep, Motorcycles, and Street Cars/Tires.
All runs will be conducted in sessions to reduce long waits in the staging lanes. Each participant will receive one run per session (no hot lapping), with groups rotating throughout the day.
The track will also utilize WhatsApp messaging along with the PA system for event updates. Be sure to sign up for text alerts to stay informed all weekend long.
