Presented by Pamplin Historical Park & The National Museum of the Civil War Soldier

Pamplin Historical Park will offer a full-day of activities commemorating Memorial Day. A highlight will be the opening of a new exhibit in the Battlefield Center at 12 Noon. This 2-part exhibit takes a very close look at the City of Petersburg, with the 1st part focusing on the city’s rich history beginning around 1675, its prominence as an industrial center, it’s significance as a transportation hub. In 1861 it was the 2nd largest city in VA. The 2nd part of the exhibit will cover the war years, the war’s effect upon the city, it’s citizens, as well as the surrounding areas – the devastation. The exhibit will be at Pamplin through December 18. The only cost is the regular admission to Pamplin Park.
