This is a multiple-stop guided educational tour on private as well as park lands all about The Second Battle of the Weldon Railroad, also known as The Battle of Globe Tavern. This was all part of General Grant’s second attempt to capture the Petersburg and Weldon Railroad, part of the Fourth Offensive of the Petersburg Campaign, August 18-21, 1864. This was a vital supply line for General Lee’s forces. Water and Snacks will be provided during the tour. Everyone will meet at Richard Bland College to begin the Driving Tour. Tickets must be purchased on Eventbrite. Registration Deadline is Thursday , October 28th.
