]]> Which spirits will you hear from this year at the annual All Hallows’ Eve event? You’ll only find out if you book a spot for a tour.
Tours begin every 20 minutes, and you must reserve your spot in advance.
Parking will be at the Visitors Center at South Side Depot (37 River Street, Petersburg, VA 23803). Ticket holders will then take the trolley to Blandford Cemetery – please arrive 15 minutes before your tour time.

Celebrate the river and all it has to offer as you wind through its beautiful tidal flatwaters. We welcome paddlers of all experience levels: choose from a 10-mile Race, a 10-mile Leisure Paddle, or a short Guided Paddle. Stay for the Finish Line Party, with an award ceremony for race winners, food and drinks for all participants, and FOLAR merchandise available for purchase.

• Food and drinks at the Finish Line Party

Featured Programs

11:00 a.m. — “God Has Fixed the Time for My Death”
Explore faith and religion through the experiences of common soldiers, with artifacts and personal accounts highlighting faith, family, and duty.

12:00 p.m. — Gettysburg and Petersburg: Two Battles through the Eyes of Union Chaplains
Author Nancy Hale discusses Union chaplains and shares eyewitness stories from Gettysburg and other battles, including the story of the only woman to serve as a chaplain during the war. Her book will be available for purchase.

1:00 p.m. — Faith on the Lines
Learn about religion during the Petersburg Campaign, the Christian Commission at City Point, wartime relief organizations, and the creation of nearby cemeteries such as Blandford and Poplar Grove.

2:00 p.m. — The Civil War as the Seedbed for Christian Nationalism
Explore how the Civil War transformed Protestantism into two competing ideologies in the North and South.

Programs are included with paid daily park admission.
