Richmond author Libby Carter McNamee will be in Petersburg’s historic Exchange Building to talk about and sign her newest book, “Dolley Madison and the War of 1812”. What a great book for the history lovers and especially for those middle & high schoolers on your list. Dolley Madison was a fascinating woman and while serving as our First Lady she had to escape from the burning of Washington, DC as our country was struggling to win the War of 1812. You may discover that you do not know much about that time or about her.
