Petersburg Area Art League is celebrating the incredible work of Ignatius Hats and the amazing art of making hats. Probably the most important tool of millinery & hat making is the Hat Block. This exhibit will display blocks from the 1920s – 1950s. These are quite rare because often the blocks were destroyed at the end of each season to prevent copying by competitors. Ignatius Hats designed headwear & millinery for television shows and movies, including some that were filmed in Petersburg. This exhibit includes tools, supplies, materials used by Ignatius Hats during the Petersburg years, along with beautiful & rare antique hat blocks that they collected. Enjoy the reception and see this quite unusual exhibit. All of the hat blocks are for sale, and you make take them with you at the time of purchase. This display will be at PAAL from September 13-October 5.
